My name is Megan Mila. I am a spiritually young 38 year old. I am originally from Miami, but I have lived in diverse locations, from Colorado to Boston. My childhood love of dance is where my fitness journey began. Spending multiple hours a day at dance and later cheerleading was extremely taxing on my body. I wish, at that time, I understood the true importance of nutrition and stress management in obtaining optimal health.
My life and health was rocked, when at the age of 17, when I was dancing with Up With People, I was diagnosed with Type One Diabetes. After years of denial of my disease, I finally took control and seeked the path that would lead me to a healthy lifestyle. Books and podcasts, lectures and training, crossfit, barre and yoga…. all helped lead the way.
Implementing lifestyle changes is only part of the bigger picture, which is the meaning of life-To Help Others. I learned this when working in the field of Special Education. We were all made to give to others and this is my true passion.
Currently, I help others by teaching a Diabetes Prevention Program developed by the CDC and implemented by the YMCA. It is a 12 month life changing program. My goal is to help others prevent the disease that took over my life.
I also help others improve their nutrition and health by the power of Juice Plus and healthy eating and living for the entire family.
I hope that on this site, I can help inspire others who are out there struggling with their health, diabetes or just life balance and general.
Why Isabel wanted Megan to be on her team: “I will never forget the first day I met Megan–She is kind and funny and so incredibly fit! On my darkest of days, she has pushed me to see the good and has always believed in me. She has big dreams and believes anything is possible.”
